Performs the following functions:

• Carries out theoretical and experimental research and development activities within the framework of research projects and collaborations with national and international scientific and technical partners.
• Runs the experimental platform and research laboratories.
• Drafts, plans, manages and monitors research projects at national and international level.
• Conducts experimental characterisation analyses of processes, instruments and materials.
• Carries out technical-economic feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses on processes and plants.
• Designs new experimental infrastructure.
